Seniors service is held at 11:00am on Wednesdays and is followed by lunch.
As it is a Holy Eucharist service all are encouraged to partake in communion, however, no one must. The lunch following the service serves mainly to bring everyone into fellowship, to chat and share stories. A donation is requested to help cover the cost of lunch, but there is no obligation to make one.For those unable to drive, a ride is provided to and from the church, wheelchairs included.Although we call this a Seniors service, anyone of any age is welcome to attend. We hope to see you soon. In the future, we hope to resurrect the Friendship Group or the Speakers Series that would run every second Tuesday of the month. Transportation would be provided for this gathering as well.
Once each month a service for seniors is conducted on a Tuesday morning at the Kinsmen’s Retirement Centre.
The St. David's House style of housing is time-tested and its friendly, supportive atmosphere provides an enhanced quality of life for elderly people.
The St. David's House family is made up of people of all faiths and backgrounds who are reasonably healthy, alert and mobile. The most important qualifications for participation are loneliness and the desire to live with other seniors in a family atmosphere.
St. David’s Society provides two buildings adjacent to the church. Each of the nine residents in each building has their own bed/sitting room with ensuite, private entry and patio. Shared common areas include a living room, dining room, kitchen, quiet room and bathrooms. Each house has a resident coordinator and meals are prepared for the residents and shared communally.
Kinsmen Retirement Centre
For more than 20 years, the Kinsmen Retirement Centre Complex has provided seniors and others in South Delta with a wide range of health care, preventative health, recreational and social programs that enrich the daily lives of residents.
St. David’s Anglican Church shares in the spiritual life of the residents by holding Sunday morning praise and worship services along with other churches in South Delta. Many of the residents receive visits from the clergy of St. David’s and the other churches in the community.
The Waterford at Windsor Woods
The Waterford is a “hotel style” residence designed specifically for seniors. Residents live independently in their own private suites without the burden of day to day chores.
Afternoon church services are held on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month with the churches of South Delta sharing in the leadership. St. David’s clergy are actively involved in these services and with visiting residents individually.
